Deze hittebestendige Gastronormbakken van Cambro passen zich snel aan aan de verschillende temperaturen. De Gastronormbakken zijn veilig te gebruiken in kookapparatuur tot 190°C, dus ook hete olie is geen probleem. De bak kan zo vanuit de koeling in de stoomtafel zonder de inhoud over te hoeven scheppen in een andere bak. Bovendien kan hij ook gebruikt worden om dingen in te vriezen, te bereiden en op te warmen. De bak is bestand tegen temperaturen van -40°C tot 190°C en is, in tegenstelling tot RVS bakken, magnetronbestendig. De platte bodem zorgt voor een gelijkmatige warmteverdeling zonder warme of koude plekken.
